Reroute Secondary Wiring System for Automated Fuel Handling Equipment
Location: Yokose, Japan
Contract Value: $1,143,000
Role: Prime Contractor
Scope of Work: ​Supported a NAVFAC Design-Bid-Build project involving underground power and fiber optic system installation for Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE). Scope included demolition, trenching, conduit installation, electrical upgrades, site restoration, and project safety and compliance support.

Kapule LLC’s responsibility in fuel maintenance across Hawai‘i, in partnership with the federal government, is one we take seriously. We are honored to have been awarded a 5-year IDIQ for fuel maintenance, and we view this not just as a contract, but as a commitment to our people and our home.
The history of fuel operations in Hawai‘i — especially the Red Hill fuel spills that impacted our drinking water and created tension between the military and the community — is not forgotten. As a Native Hawaiian Organization, we believe our role is to ensure this work is carried out the right way: with environmental responsibility, transparency, and respect for the people of Hawai‘i. We are determined that what happened at Red Hill will not happen again.
